About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and internationally minded Corporate Affairs and Transactional Legal Director to join our global legal team. This strategic leadership role is based in Madrid and will report directly to the General Counsel. You will lead high-impact legal initiatives across all markets, focusing on corporate governance, M&A, capital markets, and strategic growth projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute strategic legal projects related to organic and inorganic growth, including M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
- Act as lead counsel in due diligence, negotiation, closing, and integration phases of transactions.
- Advise the Board and Management Team on legal risks and strategic decisions.
- Represent the company in regulatory and governmental matters.
- Ensure compliance with Spanish and international legal frameworks.
- Drive legal innovation, digitization, and simplification initiatives.
- Manage and develop a high-performing legal team.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Spain (mandatory).
- University degree in Law (Master’s or equivalent preferred).
- 10+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in:
- Corporate law
- Mergers & acquisitions
- Antitrust and competition law
- Capital markets
- Corporate governance
- Strong strategic planning and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and manage change.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- High proficiency in MS Office and legal documentation tools.
- Experience working in multinational environments and across jurisdictions.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of global legal trends.
