Join our team as a Senior Construction Manager. In this strategic role, you’ll lead the end-to-end construction and renovation process across Spain and Portugal, supporting AmRest’s dynamic growth. From planning to handover, you’ll ensure every restaurant build meets our high standards for quality, cost-efficiency, and timelines. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and franchise partners to deliver seamless openings and renovations, while driving innovation and lifetime value in our construction practices. As a people-first leader, you’ll manage and develop a regional team, share expertise across markets, and help shape the future of AmRest’s development strategy.
Your responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end restaurant build process in the assigned region or country, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution aligned with AmRest’s growth and renovation plans.
- Drive the company’s strategic objectives through effective planning and execution of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
- Ensure all construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Supervise both new builds and renovations, including franchised locations, to meet AmRest standards.
- Manage and support the execution of the annual renovation plan for existing restaurants, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum operational efficiency.
- Support franchise partners and ensure all builds meet AmRest brand standards.
- Optimize costs and seek smart, innovative solutions that improve long-term efficiency.
- Standardize processes across regions and ensure compliance with legal and operational requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, sharing knowledge and developing talent.
Your skills & experience:
- University degree required (Engineering or related field preferred); MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in Construction, Project Management and Cost Management.
- 5+ years of managerial experience, proven ability to lead and develop team, set clear goals, and drive performance.
- Holding relevant permits and certifications in construction and project management is considered an advantage such as PMO
- Business fluency Spanish and English.
- Willingness to travel frequently (approx. 50%) across Spain and Portugal and occasionally to other regions.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Madrid.
- Comfortable working with senior leadership, including brand presidents and regional directors.
- Able to work independently and cross-functionally.
